Promotion of ITCP

Those that have successfully undertaken ITCP Certification have access to the Logo and Statements below to promote themselves as ITCP Certified Professionals, however there are some caveats around usage.

This page lists the conditions around usage of ITCP Post Nominals, usage of the ITCP Logo, Statements about ITCP Certification, and some examples.

Usage of ITCP Post Nominals

As an ITCP Certified Professional you are entitled to use the "ITCP" Post nominal.

This is generally be used in conjunction with, and following, your NZCS professional designation, however this is not mandatory - you can choose to use one, the other, both or neither.

Example usages:

  • Fred Smith, MNZCS ITCP
  • Patricia Brown, BSc, MNZCS ITCP
  • Joanne Bloggs, ITCP

Please contact the NZCS Certification Team if you need further information about Post Nominal usage.

Usage of ITCP Logos

ITCPITCP Certified Professionals, that is, those that legitimately appear on the ITCP Register, may utilise the ITCP Logos if they agree to the following conditions.

  • The ITCP Logo cannot be used in reference to any individual not currently listed on the ITCP Registry. If an individual is removed from the Registry for any reason usage of the logo must cease immediately.
  • The ITCP Logo can only be used in such a way as to be seen to be in reference to a specific named individual. For instance, within close proximity to an individual's profile on a website (rather than just placed anywhere on a website), or on their personal business card or stationary.
  • The ITCP Logo may only be used as an "additional" or "supporting" logo, and only in deference to an organisation's primary logo. For instance, an ITCP Certified Professional may not create a business card with ITCP as the primary logo or branding.
  • The ITCP Logo cannot be used in such a way as to indicate that any individual or organisation is representing NZCS, ITCP, or any organisation or group associated with ITCP.
  • ITCP is a certification for individuals, not organisations. The ITCP Logo cannot be used in any way to indicate that an organisation (whether it be a company, non-profit, partnership, or any other entity) is in any way accredited or certified with ITCP.
  • The ITCP Logo may not be joined, modified, distorted, or changed in any way.
  • The ITCP Logo must have whitespace above and below it equivalent to 1/3 of its height, and to the left and right equivalent to 1/3 of its width.
  • Where appropriate, the name associated with the ITCP logo should include the "ITCP" post-nominal (although this is not mandatory).
  • NZCS is the sole and undisputed owner of the ITCP Logo, and ownership of its likeness does not transfer, explicitly or implied, when usage of the Logo is granted.
  • The ITCP Logo should not be used in any other way that defeats the purpose, integrity or intention of the usage of the logo.
  • NZCS has sole right to determine whether usage is appropriate, and the ITCP Certified Professional must remove or change their usage at the request of NZCS.

In short, simply follow the rule of common sense when using the logo, ensure it is only being used to promote an ITCP Certified Professional and not any other person or organisation, and that it is not used in such a way as to imply representation.

We would strongly recommend having NZCS check off any material before printing. Simply send a proof to certification@nzcs.org.nz and we will come back to you promptly with an approval or changes. This will remove the possibility of having to reprint material found not to meet the criteria.

Statements about ITCP

ITCP Certified Professionals may make statements regarding their certification. Some approved examples are included below, however ITCP Certified Professionals may customise these provided they meet the following conditions.

Examples of where statements might appear is on email signatures, in tender documents or quotes to clients, on websites, and on other marketing material.

Making such statements is encouraged, however any statement must meet the following criteria:

  • Any statement made must be clearly in reference to an individual currently listed on the ITCP Registry. If an individual is removed from the Registry for any reason any statements must be removed (where possible).
  • Any statement made be used in such a way as to be seen to be in reference to a specific named individual. For instance, within close proximity to an individual's profile on a website (rather than just placed anywhere on a website), or on their personal business card or stationary.
  • No statement should be made worded in such a way as to indicate that any individual or organisation is representing NZCS, ITCP, or any organisation or group associated with ITCP.
  • ITCP is a certification for individuals, not organisations. No statement should in any way to indicate that an organisation (whether it be a company, non-profit, partnership, or any other entity) is in any way accredited or certified with ITCP.
  • Where appropriate, the name associated with any statement should include the "ITCP" post-nominal (although this is not mandatory).
  • No statement may be made in reference to a particular project or piece of work unless an ITCP Certified Professional has sole (or joint with another ITCP Certified Professional) responsibility and accountability for that work.
  • No statement may be made in relation to previously holding ITCP or having applied for ITCP, unless the individual is currently on the Register. For example, you may not say "John Smith was awarded ITCP in 2009." if the registration has since lapsed.
  • No statement should be made that in any way defeats the purpose, integrity or intention of ITCP.
  • Statements must include a link to the ITCP website, www.itcp.co.nz, for more information and to view the Registry.
  • NZCS has sole right to determine whether a statement regarding ITCP is appropriate, and the ITCP Certified Professional must remove or change a statement made at the request of NZCS.

NZCS strongly recommends sending a draft of any proposed statement to the NZCS Certification Team prior to usage, at certification@nzcs.org.nz.
